As transformational coaches we very much focus on self-exploration and self-acceptance for the coachee; challenging their current thinking and helping them explore new perspectives; supporting them in finding new ways to go about doing things and encouraging them to become more who they really are.
That said, sometimes coachees may want to work towards a specific tangible goal, develop a realistic strategy or map out a practical plan, and, of course, we will look to coach them in planning and actioning their project and achieving their goal, whilst also inviting them to step back for a while and consider what the goal or plan means to them, and their future self.
In this episode we explore where we might start working with a coachee’s goals and share some tips on how you might support a coachee who is presenting with this kind of coaching scenario.
